It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas. We had our first frost of the season last night. The temperature dipped down to around 33 degrees at sunrise, so thankfully in most areas it was a light frost. We had to delay play for about 35 minutes, but that's not too bad. We'll see how it is tomorrow morning, after that the night time temperatures are suppose to get warmer for a while.
In our staff meeting today we discussed several different ideas on how we wanted to approach frost delays this year and what makes the most sense going forward. Although this has not been finalized, the plan that seems to make the most sense for everyone, is if we skip the cup changing and greens mowing on frost mornings and do some sort of modified shotgun. That way nobody loses there tee time and we don't start the day out an hour behind. There are still some details to be worked out, such as if we get several frost days in a row, but lets hope that doesn't become a concern.
I would also like to remind everyone that on these cold mornings, PLEASE use the cart paths to get to the Clubhouse in the morning, or better yet, use the roads. We sure would appreciate it.
