Well, the wind died down and the cold moved in. It's almost strange though, the way the temperature drops 2 to 3 degrees more as the Sun first starts to come up. It was 33 degrees at 5:10 AM today and at the first sign of the Sun, the temperature dropped to 29 degrees. You can actually watch as the grass start to crystallize and turn white with frost. That is if you're silly enough to be outside at that time in the morning. With as cold as it was, we ended up skipping the greens mowing as we thought we might, but we were able to get most of the cups changed. We finally got play started around 8:15 AM. I have a feeling that tonight is going to be just as cold and the delay will be similar. The good news is that the only effect this should have on the course is that it will keep the grass from growing until it warms up a little. It shouldn't effect the looks much more because all the Bermuda was dormant from the last few days of frost.
