There are some things that I forgot to mention in my earlier post that I didn't want to leave unmentioned. Between the rain and flooding that we had a while back, and the couple of hard frosts recently, quite a few of the flowers along the entrance islands have taken a hit. We have removed all the dead plants and have ordered several flats of replacement flowers that should be delivered tomorrow morning. We also finally got our replacement 3-hp pressure maintenance pump installed today. That puts our pump station back to 100% capacity.
And last but probably the most important, an update on a couple of our employees. Our Foreman Ed Salcedo, who has been out for several months recovering from quadruple by-pass surgery has been cleared by his Doctor to return to work tomorrow. It will sure be nice to have Eddie back. But our irrigation technician Victor Balley, has been going through a very rough period in his life. He recently had a small tumor removed from behind his ear and is still waiting for all the final test results. Then last week his sister (42 years old) passed away unexpectedly and in the middle of making all the arrangements for that, he finds out that his mother has been diagnosed with cancer. Talk about getting bombarded all at once. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Victor and his family.
