I have conflicting opinions after riding around the course today and looking at the turf. It doesn't appear to be as thick and green as in prior years, but then again, it could actually be better. Because of the cooler weather this year, there is considerably less Bermuda that came back and that will cause everything to not look as thick and as green as I am use to seeing at opening. Either way we should be OK.
The greens however, are in as good of condition as they have ever been for opening.
Shifting gears a little, we had a little mix-up on the par-3 yardage markers. Apparently, Robert delegated the measuring of the yardages to one of his staff and told them to go measure the yardages from the existing markers to the front, center and back of the greens. Well, this person measured the yardages from the tee markers instead of from the yardage markers and all the yardages are different. Hopefully, we will still be able to use the majority of them.
That being said, as soon as we get the course open, I am going to take a much needed week off.
