Last night the irrigation pumps shut down at 1:33PM from a low discharge pressure. This is usually caused by a main-line leak or by too many sprinklers running at the same time and the pumps not being able to keep the pressure high enough. The station then recognizes a problem and shuts itself down. The central control computer that turns everything on and off should never allow this to happen. However, with the computer not directly connected to the entire irrigation pumping system, this can occur if several sprinkler valves do not shut off immediately when called to. Someday they will directly connect the central control computer to the pump station computer not allowing this to happen. As cool as the nights have been, it shouldn't be a problem.
