I must have missed a pretty good storm last night. I went home yesterday afternoon, sat in my easy chair and watched TV in the nice cool AC for a couple of hours and then went to bed. You can imagine my surprise when I toured the course this morning and discovered 4 large tree branches down and debris all over the place. We had a pretty good mess to clean up. Wind storms always create problems because they not only put us way behind in our daily maintenance routine, but the cause huge problems with irrigation coverage as well. Our staff always does a great job of getting the course cleaned up before most golfers see the damage. This in itself causes problems because members don't always understand all the time we spend cleaning up these messes and often wonder why we are behind in our mowing and other tasks.
