This year we are going to be doing our over-seeding a little differently then in years past. We will not be over-seeding the Driving Range Fairway. This will allow us to keep the Driving Range opened throughout the over-seeding process. We will however, be over-seeding all three of the Range Tees. We will close the two front tees for seeding and keep the back tee open for member and guest use, and then we will close the back tee for seeding when the front tees open. We will also be increasing the amount of seed in the fairways this year by slightly reducing the amount of seed in certain non-play areas of the roughs.
The reason behind these changes is because we know that in the very near future, severe water restrictions are coming to the Coachella Valley. In an attempt to be proactive, we want to be able to determine what our options might be once these restrictions do hit. By testing some things out now, we will be better suited to negotiate with the State Water Board on how this might effect our business, what we can and cannot do, and also have some documentation to back it up.

I also want to let my loyal readers know that this will be my final post for a couple of weeks, as I will be taking some vacation time to visit Suzanne in Maui before we dive into over-seeding. Aloha
