The course is now closed and we got started on ripping up the greens for over-seeding today. The new dust restrictions laws (known as PM-10) that were incorporated a couple of years ago makes the process a little more difficult. The reason being, that you need to keep the turf damp so that you don't kick up any dust. By keeping the turf damp, it never really quits growing. Although it's growing fairly slowly, it's still growing and therefore, tougher to rip out. That being said, I'm afraid I might have thrown a little too much water last night and slowed us up a little. We had to hold off for a while and let them dry out a little before we could get started this morning. That shouldn't be a problem going forward and we seemed to be able to make up for the lost time. It's going to be interesting to see how the entire process flows this year with our reduced staff size. I'm betting on us.
Don't forget, the range is open throughout the over-seeding process this year, using the Tee on the far end only.
