Yesterday I attended our monthly meeting of the Hi-Lo Desert Golf Course Superintendents Association. The meeting was held at Oak Valley Golf Club in Beaumont. After the meeting I had the privilege of playing golf with Mr. John Lamrock and his business partner from Southwest Growers and Landscaping Inc. John and his partner were the original construction builders of Desert Falls Country Club. What an interesting and informative day. It was great hearing all about the budget restrictions and other issues these guys faced while building our course. I extended an invitation to both of these gentlemen to come out and play our course in the near future. (They both knew that I wanted to pick their brains some more). They said that they would love to see and play the course as they have not seen it since they built it back in the early 80's.
