Vector Control was out yesterday to treat for the Fire Ants. After taking them around the course to show them just how many ants we had, we convinced them to broadcast the treatment over 100% of the golf course. In doing such a large area they had to use a different (less expensive)chemical. The difference in this chemical is not it's efficiency, it's the amount of time it takes to be effective. This chemical takes 3 to 4 weeks as compared to the other chemical that takes one to two weeks. In the long run this should result in a much better overall control because there wasn't any missed areas.
