I just got back from two days of regional meetings. Boy, those are tons of fun! Anyway, I just want to talk about our "Gate System" for this year and explain how it works. We tried to make it as simple as possible while still keeping it useful. There is 1 white post with a blue top at the beginning of every hole (except par 3's) and another post near the green end of the hole. We ask that you stay on the cart path until you pass the first post (which will usually be past the red tees a ways) then return to the cart path before you reach the post at the green end of the hole, using the 90 degree rule in between. Simple.
You can see the damage that cart traffic can cause by looking where everyone is cutting the corner in this picture.
