We are having a problem getting the areas that got hit with Pythium disease on the greens to re-germinate again. In past years we have gotten hit within a week or so after seeding, which has given us plenty of time to spot seed and get it germinated. This year it was nice and cool for the first two weeks after seeding, then it turned hot again with temperatures getting back into the 100's. Then the Pythium didn't hit for another week after that. Now we are really struggling to get those areas filled in. It looks like we will need to continue to spot seed even after we open. The good news is that the only real effect it should have is how they look, which will be somewhat off-color and spotty. It shouldn't really have much effect on how they play. But rest assured that we are doing everything we can to get them looking great.
