First thing tomorrow morning we will be fertilizing the greens and applying some chemicals to control the Fairy Ring that is starting to appear, as it always does this time of year. Fairy Ring is a fungus that develops in turf in a circular pattern that appears as an isolated dry spot. What it does is cause the soil to become hydrophobic, meaning it will not retain water. No chemical will cure Fairy Ring, however, there are several chemicals that will help "mask" the effects, and that's what we will applying tomorrow along with the fertilizer.
