We got all the greens fertilized this morning and they are rolling at 8.9' on the stemp meter.
For the past 3 years I have had a deal worked out with a local pool building company. Whenever they were building a new pool, they would have to find somewhere to dump all the blow sand they excavated. I would allow them to dump it at my shop yard for free provided it was not contaminated. I would then use the free blow sand for things we had previously purchased sand for, such as filling divots and top-dressing the range tee. This allowed me to use my budget money to purchase the very expensive # 30 kiln dried top-dressing sand we now use on the greens. But with the way the economy is today, we are having a difficult time getting our free blow sand because no one is building pools. I need to find another way to get clean blow sand without tapping into my budget or find somewhere I can cut something else, because I do not want to revert back to using a lesser grade of sand on our greens.
