I've had several members ask me recently why we mowed the roughs down so short. Truth be told, they are mowed at one and one-half inch, which is the same height that they are always mowed at. When we had the frost a while back, it completely shut down all growth and it just hasn't been warm enough to start growing again. I know that is kind of hard to believe with as warm as it is today, but you have to realize that it is the soil temperature, not the air temperature that will restart growth. If it stays like this, in no time I'll be getting asked when we are going to start cutting the roughs down.
