I have always really disliked putting up ropes and stakes. I wish we never had to have a single one on the course, but that just isn't going to happen until everyone starts using the 90 degree rule. The whole idea behind putting up the few ropes that we did, was so that when the carts had to stay on the path around the curve, they would continue straight down the path until they reached their ball and then do the 90 degree thing. But apparently that isn't happening. I sit and watch every group get to the end of the rope and then head onto the fairway and right down the center. We were hoping to save some labor time by not having to constantly move the ropes so we could spend more time doing other things, such as raising or lowering old plugs in the greens. With having double tee or shotgun starts every day, we are changing the first 3 or 4 holes on each nine in the dark. That makes it almost imposable to see those old plugs unless we schedule time to go back later in the day, which is more difficult to schedule it in when we have to do extra things like move ropes.
