Here is some of the highlights and what is being required of us from our Regional Kick-off Meeting.
All,
Thank you for attending the GCM Kickoff meeting held at Indian Wells Country Club. I felt we had a very good meeting with great discussion about our side of the business. I wanted to recap the tools we unveiled along with the deliverables and time tables that we are asking of you for 2011.
FasTee
1) All clubs will have a minimum of one 18-hole FasTee course
2) Teeing area will be the same height of cut as other course teeing areas.
3) Tee markers will be upright and visible, flush in ground markers are no longer acceptable.
As all of us are aware, “Sustainability and Environmental Stewardship”are very important to the long term survival of our business and planet. Although, all of you have been good stewards, ClubCorp needs a corporate program in place so the outside world can see our commitment to Environmental Sustainability. We have chosen two areas to use as the first cornerstones of our program:
Audubon International's Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses (ACSP)
Environmental Institute for Golf's IPM Planning Guide
ACSP
1) All clubs will have the Environmental Planning Section of ACSP complete by May 30, 2011
2) All Clubs will have a minimum of 2 other ACSP sections, 3 sections total, complete by November 2011
3) All clubs will be ACSP certified by November 2012
EIFG IPM Planning Guide
1) Written IPM program will be mandatory at all ClubCorp facilities
2) Club Corp will use EIFG's IPM Planning Guide for our written IPM program
3) Clubs can register for the guide at: http://eifg.org/sustainability/toolbox/ipmguide/default.aspx
4) All club's will have written IPM Plan in place by April 30, 2011
For several years many of you have been asking for a more concise picture of what you are being asked to produce as a product. We are pleased to announce the GCM Operational Best Practices Manual which will give you a much clearer picture of standards that you are expected to maintain at your facility. The manual is posted on the Golf Course Management website within the ClubCorp On-Line intranet home page and can be viewed and down loaded from there. In the manual there are several tools to help you track certain items, these templates are interactive and have been also posted separately on the website. In the next 90-120 days each club will be receiving a hard color copy of the manual in the mail.
In an effort to standardize our labor scheduling we have developed the Superintendents Scheduling Tool (SST). Use of this tool will give you a very concise view of task and labor usage at your facility. We will be requiring all clubs to use the tool on a weekly basis. We realize that this is a new direction and there will be a learning curve for using the SST. Our goal is to have all of you proficient in its use by May 2011. Please contact your RDA or myself if you need any help on using the tool. I have attached the 18-hole version to this email. Both the 18-hole version and the Multi-Course version are posted on the GCM website.
Again thank you for input at the meeting. We look forward to a great 2011!
