Is this heat ever going to stop! I'm starting to get concerned about the Bermuda coming back and choking out some of the new Rye grass. I would be a lot more concerned had we not chemically treated all the fairways to control the Bermuda like we did. Still, everything is growing like crazy. There's always some tough decisions to make when it's growing this fast. You have clipping all over the place that look terrible, but you really don't like putting a sweeper on the new grass because it is so delicate and you take a risk on pulling some of it out. Let's just hope the weather starts to cools off real soon.
On a side note, we lowered the height of cut on the greens by 1/32 of an inch today for tomorrow mornings mowing. At the rate and distance we lower the cut on the greens at any one time, you probably won't really notice much of a difference in speed.
One last thing. I cannot believe that there are as many ball marks on the greens as there are in only 4 days of being open. PLEASE remember to fix yours and at least one other.
