It seems that I need to discuss the pin placements better with some of the newer staff. I guess several different times some members/golfers have complained to the pro shop that the red flag on number 4 green should be a white flag. And in telling my assistant about the incorrect colored flag, Richard discovered that whenever we put the red flag on the left, we got complaints, so he told the guys not to put a red flag on the left side of that green thinking this is what members wanted. Come to find out, there are several areas on different greens that this has happened on. The problem is that not everyone sees the hole layout the same, which causes different opinions on what should be a red, white or blue placement. I am currently in the process of printing a diagram of each green, showing the hole layout and the direction from which the approach of the hole comes in from. These diagrams show where the green should be divided between the red, white and blue pin placement. Now, in order to achieve the best placements using the correct color, sometimes the red area will overlap the white area, and the white area might overlap into the blue area as shown in the picture. We will keep these posted for our staff, which should eliminate any misunderstandings of where each color flag can be placed.
