Well, we open the course today for a 1:00 PM shotgun. Even though I'll be glad to get it open, I wish I had more time. Of course I wish I had more time every year. I think everyone will be pleased with this years over-seeding, especially the greens. We have always opened with the greens height of cut at 0.125 (or 1/8th inch) but they were good enough this year that we are opening at a height of 0.116, which is not a huge difference in height, but should be a noticeable difference in speed.
And now that we are open, I am going to take a much needed week of vacation. Mainly just to avoid the two questions I always get hit with at this time of year. One, when are the ropes coming down and two, when will we speed up the greens?
I hope everyone enjoys the course and that we all have a super season.
