One very positive thing that came out of our regional meetings last week is that they realized that I am under staffed for the size of property we are trying to maintain. Unfortunately, with the existing economy, they won't allow me to hire additional staff at this time, but they are going to allow me to do some things that could help free up some labor. Mainly they are going to allow me to chemically treat around the tree bases on the course like we do in the summer. This should free up some labor because a tree that is sprayed out around it's base will last for about 6 to 8 weeks without additional labor as compared to trimming it weekly with a weed eater. This should help us to better maintain bunkers and things like that. We will not treat any trees that are highly visible from the clubhouse in order to keep it looking as nice as we can. We can't expect to see any drastic differences immediately, but hopefully we should see some gradual improvements before too long.
