I mentioned in an earlier post about how much Bermuda grass came back this year because of the rain and warm weather. Here are a couple of pictures taken a few days after we sprayed the fairways to control the Bermuda. These pictures really show just how much Bermuda was knocked down from the chemicals. Our fairways might look a little thin and yellow for a few weeks, but come late November and December we will be glad that we sprayed them. That much Bermuda could surely choke out a lot of the new Rye grass. These pictures also show just how tiny and delicate the new grass is and why it is so important to keep the carts on the paths and off the new turf as much as possible until it has a chance to mature.
