On Thursday we had our first Board of Governors meeting of the season. Each department head was asked to do an orientation on their backgrounds and job responsibilities. Here are the bullet points from mine.

Tom Shephard, Golf Course Superintendent:
My Background:
42 years in the golf industry and I have worked at 8 different clubs.
Most notable, The Boulders Resort in Carefree AZ, Mullett Bay Resort & Casino on Caribbean Island of St. Maarten & prior to here at Coto de Caza Golf & Racket Club.
Worked every position in golf course maintenance, as an assistant pro, as a golf instructor for Norwegian Cruse Lines and as an assistant general manager. 34 years as head superintendent.
17 years with ClubCorp.
7 years at Desert Falls CC.
My Responsibilities:
Maintaining the Turf & Related Areas, (fertilizer & pesticide applications, mowing, flower beds, course preparation, etc.) Golf Course Staffing and Scheduling, Irrigation System Repairs & Maintenance, Equipment Repairs & Maintenance, Business Administration and Record Keeping.

1 (250-hp) Well
1 irrigation pump station with (4) 100-hp variable speed pumps, with an output of 3,750 gallons per minute.
RainBird central control irrigation computer
Over 2000 sprinkler heads
