I finally had the opportunity to play golf on my own golf course Friday, and I must say the course played pretty well for being opened less than a month. That being said, there are some areas of concern going forward. There are areas that we are going to need to rope off because of cart traffic and the ball marks are getting out of control. Our group must have fixed over 100 on Friday. The above normal temperatures have caused some insect activity on the greens. You can see some slight bug damage on a few, like the front of # 6. But the biggest concern though, is with the weather being as warm as it has been for the last month, there is an awful lot of Bermuda that has come back, especially in the roughs. Even in the fairways that were chemically treated to control it, you can see Bermuda that has come back strong, although I'm not too overly concerned about the fairways. However, if we get some heavy frost or really cold weather, it could be a long December. The course should still play fine, but it sure could be stressed out looking and off color.
